Results-Driven Counseling

With a solution-focused approach, Michelle Curtze, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), begins by helping you uncover what is driving your discomfort. Not one to simply apply a Band-Aid to a symptom, Michelle employs a ‘peel the onion’ approach and utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques to help you change your thinking patterns and learn to react to the circumstances of your life in a healthier way. She provides you with the tools and encouragement to overcome your obstacles, increasing your self-confidence so you can make subtle, lasting changes.

Supportive Guidance

Taking a practical approach and gently asking tough questions, Michelle helps you discover the issues that are holding you back. She creates an environment where everyone feels that they have a personal responsibility to, and are a part of, the process of change. She works collaboratively with you to develop strategies to get ‘unstuck’ – uncovering the truth, looking for patterns, and helping you determine the strategies to help you live the life you desire.

Evidence-Based Treatment

Michelle uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure/Response Prevention and the methodology of Brené Brown to customize your therapy to meet your unique circumstances. As a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator, Michelle applies many of Dr. Brené Brown’s powerful strategies to recognize shame and increase your ability to be vulnerable. In all cases she uses a team-based approach, collaborating with your current health care providers including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, school counselors or dieticians to ensure consistency and quality of care as you move down the road to recovery.

The world breaks everyone and afterward, some are strong at the broken places.
